WELCOME TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF MOULDED PACKAGING

James Cropper 3D Products was formed as part of James Cropper PLC to shape a sustainable future for stand-out packaging design - drawing on more than 170 years’ expertise in fibre, paper and colour innovation.

In this new era of packaging design, James Cropper 3D Products is committed to enhancing your brand identity, product value and packaging integrity - while reducing environmental impact.

LEADING IN COLOUR

We’re passionate about colour and the importance of consistency. Our specialist colour laboratory puts 170 years of experience at your fingertips to ensure packaging that stands out, sustainably. Great care is taken in the selection and paper chemistry of packaging dyes to ensure quality results, with minimum effluent discharge.

ADVANCING QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE

Our bespoke, design-engineered approach sets new standards for cure-in-the-mould packaging. Combining distinctive, crafted and renewable materials with progressive design - we’re driving real progress in packaging quality and performance.

SOURCING RAW MATERIALS RESPONSIBLY

Our Moulded Paper Packaging is made from 100% Renewable Natural Fibres - including certified wood pulp from sustainably managed forests (FSC-40-005 V2.1 Controlled Wood standard as a minimum) and naturally occurring agricultural co-products. All fresh fibre is either elemental chlorine free (ECF) or totally chlorine free (TCF).

REDUCING WASTE, REDUCING LANDFILL

Our whole production process is managed to minimise waste to landfill. Most of our waste is repurposed within the manufacturing process, or composted on local Cumbrian farms. Our Moulded Paper Packaging is 100% recyclable by consumers with paper - reducing your brand’s own contribution to landfill and dramatically improving your packaging lifecycle.

PRESERVING ENERGY, INVESTING IN RENEWABLES

We operate an on-going Energy Efficiency Scheme to reduce our consumption annually (certified to ISO50001 in 2015). Our combined heat and power plant (CHPQA), with waste recovery unit, is one of the most efficient systems available and significantly reduces our primary energy consumption. A substantial amount of our energy supply is drawn from our own hydroelectric and solar power plants - showing our continued investment in renewable energy.

RESPECTING OUR WATER SUPPLY

Our factory is based on the banks of Cumbria’s River Kent (SSSI, SAC) giving us access to perfectly clean natural resources to make the purest paper product. White-clawed crayfish thrive in our river - being particularly sensitive to pollutants, they’re a testament to the high quality of the water and to our investment in waste-water treatment and pollution control. Primary water treatment takes place on our site - water is then discharged to the local municipal waste water treatment works for “polishing” before it is returned safely to the river.
